Lipstick. For some of us it was the first piece of makeup we ever owned.

I’ve never been a huge lipstick lover until a couple of years ago. Now my love of lipstick borders on obsession – I can’t get enough! Even though I have a ton of tubes of lipstick in my makeup drawer, I would say that 95% of them are nude or neutral shades. I seldom go for a pop of color on my lips because I’ve just always preferred something a bit more subtle.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks

Why I love it: It’s no secret that I love Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics (see my article from last year to read all about it). Although I love her glosses and liquid lipsticks, her traditional tube lipsticks are so creamy and luxurious they feel like applying a creamy balm with color. Their pigments are really strong so certain shades can be applied, blotted and topped with gloss for long-lasting subtle color. You also can’t help but love the rose gold tubes!

Urban Decay VICE Lipstick

Why I love it: This is the lipstick that got me back into wearing lipstick. I was strictly a gloss girl until this line launched. I love that there are countless shades to suit any mood and style – all at a great price point so you can afford to buy a few! They come in matte, satin, shimmer, bold…you name it. It might be one of the most moisturizing lipsticks I’ve ever used. I apply some of their shades like I would a lip balm! The line also features some of my favorite nude shades available.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Créme Lipsticks

I was lucky enough to be sent one of these lipsticks from Influenster in one of their Vox Boxes this month! The shade they sent me was OG Lolita and it is really pretty.

Why I love it: The texture is really soft and not only provides long-lasting color, it locks in moisture, too. It applies really smoothly and the angle on the lipstick itself makes it easy for even the lipstick novice. This lipstick is highly pigmented so the color lasts even when you only apply one layer – it’s one swipe, gorgeous satin-matte color! I love that you can layer it on for a deeper shade or even top with gloss! The packaging is also stunning! This is one of the most Instagrammable tubes of lipstick I’ve ever had.
