A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post on How To Refresh Your Bedroom For Summer where I included a wish list of items to refresh my own space. With the help of Joss & Main, I’m bringing you the results of my own bedroom refresh project!
Often the master bedroom is the last space in your home that you give any decorating attention to, and in our home that seems to prove true! We’ve been looking to make some updates to make the space more comfortable and bright, and summer seemed like the perfect time to execute this!
The king-sized bed frame and headboard are a woven grey fabric and I love how it adds a base of texture to the space.

We recently swapped out some of our dark wood furniture for white, which immediately made the room feel more summer-y and bright. I love the contrast of the white against the grey walls and our blue feature wall.
Our new nightstands are fantastic. I love how they are a great height next to our bed and have a few cool features.
For one, they have a shelf in addition to drawers, which is perfect for books and magazines and even my laptop.
The nightstands also feature two drawers – one standard drawer, and the second is more of a pull out tray with a cable management system. This is perfect for storing television remotes and charging devices like our phones and tablets without the mess of cords hanging everywhere. It’s a great way to hide tech clutter!
P.S. These nightstands came with Richelieu drawer hardware!
I think this pink velvet bench is incredible! The pink is light enough that my husband was okay with it. I love how to colour and texture soften the room.

Having a bench in the space is lovely! We have a ton of extra space at the foot of our bed, so it’s a great way to make the room feel a bit cozier. It’s also nice to have somewhere to toss a throw blanket or sit to put on shoes.
As I’ve mentioned before, I love crisp white linens! I love how a bright white duvet cover feels clean and like you’re at a luxury hotel. I love the embroidered stripe of this hotel-style cover!
Because I didn’t want the appearance of “too much white” on the bed, if there even is such a thing, I opted to add in some darker pillow cases to break it up. I think the white and navy look great because they’re both neutral.
I am obsessed with this cozy throw. I love its softness and how much Hattie loves to curl up on top of it!

The chevron print is really nice and it’s really inexpensive! For a few more incredible options, see my previous post.
I love throw pillows but my husband does not, so I opted to keep these extras fairly simple. We prefer down-filled pillows as they’re much less stiff and are comfy to lay on or cuddle with – plus, Hattie loves to push them down and curl up on them like they’re her own little mattress!
As you can see, I opted for only two throw pillows in our bedroom, but I went with a couple that I thought were pretty cute!

I don’t know if it’s my Scandi background, but I hate surface clutter! I’m a firm believer in “a place for everything and everything in its place” and the bedroom is no exception to this rule. I like as much as possible to be stored neatly in drawers! The exception to this for me is stacks of magazines (and I seem to have more of those than I should), a book that I’m currently reading or carefully placed framed photographs.
I find that small decorative bowls are perfect for storing bedside items like nail files, hair ties and lip balm. Small trays are great for catching jewelry, change and other small items. If you’re looking for additional items to organize your dresser and night table tops, see my previous post.
I’d mentioned in my previous post that curtains are a great thing to swap out to make a room feel more summery. In this case, I actually got rid of our curtains all together. With the configuration of the furniture on the opposite side of the room (not shown), they just didn’t work in the space. If I were to add drapes to the space, here is what I’d choose:
