Powder Rooms. Seemingly the one room in your home where you can execute a dramatic design vision and it doesn’t feel out of place. It’s the bathroom that guests use and requires very little.
I’ve been contemplating doing a refresh of the main floor powder room in my home for quite some time…and those plans seem to have escalated into a full scale renovation (don’t worry, my husband knows and is on board!). I’ve deliberated over images I’ve pinned, photos I’ve torn out of magazines and finally I’ve decided on my design plan! I can’t wait to share it with you!
But before I start swinging a hammer and repainting walls, I’ve headed over to Wayfair for all the pieces I’ll need to make my powder room dreams a reality!

Fancy New Fixtures
Toilet
Shop: St. Tropez Dual Flush Elongated One-Piece Toilet
I’m looking to update my powder room to feel significantly more modern so a new toilet is absolutely required. In a small space like this, the main fixtures can really make a huge impact. I like this one because it’s efficient on water (dual flush) and won’t feel too heavy in the space.
Vanity
Shop: Fritz 30″ Single Bathroom Vanity
I’m opting for a floating vanity because I really want the space to feel larger. I love shaker style cabinetry because it’s classic and never goes out of style. This shade of wood gives a slight mid-century vibe (which I love!) and the drawers offer additional storage space that I’m currently lacking with a pedestal sink.
Sink
Shop: Modern Ceramic Vessel Bathroom Sink
Vessel sinks just add so much ‘wow’ to a space, especially a powder room! I’m leaning towards a style that is on the shallow-side but doesn’t lack on impact. I also prefer the clean lines of square/rectangular vessels. (additional options listed below)
Mirror

A framed mirror is a must – I think it helps to anchor the space and finish it nicely. For the low financial investment, a framed mirror can add a ton of class to a small space like this. I’m still debating round or square!
Lighting

I love these mid-century inspired pendant lights with Edison bulbs! They’re fresh and modern with a touch of traditional style. I love the idea of the romance and drama of pendant lighting in a space like this. Plus the chrome….it makes me feel like I’m in a luxury hotel!

Faucet

Faucet choices can be a bit trickier when having selected a vessel sink so make sure you’ve got your measurements right. I almost always opt for chrome and a clean-lined, timeless style. Faucets aren’t something you want to be swapping out on the regular because it’s a bit of a (time consuming) chore.
Towel Bar
I don’t want my towel bar to be the main focus of my space, but I don’t want it to look like an afterthought either. For what I’m planning, a chrome bar is just the ticket – it keeps things feeling upscale and it matches the faucet!

If you can find a paper holder that matches your towel bar, then you’re in luck! When shopping for these on Wayfair, they will almost always suggest shopping the entire collection so your hardware matches. This is one of my favorite features – plus, you never know what hardware items you may have forgotten about!

I love Turkish Cotton towels – the weave is so luxe! Guests will love drying their hands on them! They’re also such a great way to add texture to an otherwise sleek space. Bath linens are the easiest way to add a touch of colour to a space, and they’re inexpensive to swap out if you get tired of them.
Brush Holder

We all know that this needs to be in here, so why not keep it hidden in a container as pretty as this? It’s a bit more inconspicuous this way, too, which just feels more polite, doesn’t it?!
Reed Diffuser

I love a fresh smelling bathroom but I hate how overpowering air fresheners can be. Reed diffusers are always the answer! My favorite scents are always natural like vanilla, grapefruit or even sugar cookie! Be sure to choose one that is in a stylish container that matches your bathroom aesthetic, too.
Magazine Holder

I don’t just keep magazines in the bathroom because people like to read in there – it’s a great place for me to store my plethora of glossy books (if it weren’t for bathrooms, I’d be drowning in magazines!).
