Johnny Foley’s Irish House, San Francisco, California
My husband and I visited this lively pub while visiting San Francisco on the advice of the concierge at our hotel.
We had the fish and chips (freshly caught!) and a few pints (of course) and a really great time. Everything that came from the kitchen looked and smelled amazing! The menu features traditional pub fare and generous portions!
We were there on a Thursday night and were able to snag a table for two right before the place filled up. There was live music (local blues musicians!), a lively crowd and great service. The crowd varied from after-work cocktail hour attendees, tourists, girls and guys nights out, casually dressed and those dressed up.
This Irish Pub is conveniently located near Union Square and Nob Hill, and is also close to the street car lines (no need for an uphill walk after this!). The streets around it are lively until late hours and feature live music and street vendors.
