Invitations & Stationery That Are Anything But Basic!

I recently received a Save the Date card in the mail for a friend’s wedding and the custom card brought me so much joy!  There is something so thoughtful and personal about a paper invitation – the level of care and time that someone took to have the invitations made and send them in the mail says so much!

I love custom stationery so much that I even have a box where I save wedding invitations, baby shower invites, and even Bar/Bat Mitzvah invites that I’ve received over the years. There is something so inspiring about paper stationery and a mailed invitation!

I think that sending an invite in the mail (followed by a lovely thank you note after the occasion!) is so thoughtful and classic. I recently posted an editorial about handwritten thank you notes and how much more sincere they are than a “thank you” text or email.

Recently I’ve been doing a lot of looking into baby shower invitations.  These are one type of invitation that I prefer to make as personal as possible.  After all, celebrating this incredible new phase of life is worth the effort!

When hosting baby showers (and other events), I’ve often found myself wandering around craft stores trying to find the right colors, patterns, paper textures, etc. and then struggling to come up with something pretty on my computer (likely in Photoshop!) to get the printed text I have envisioned.  I used to think that I had to fabricate my own invitations from scratch, and as crafty as I am, I honestly just don’t have the time.  I’ve often found custom stationery to be prohibitively expensive until I stumbled upon Basic Invite.  Let me assure you, they are anything but basic! Not only do they have the best baby shower invitations, but they have some of the nicest thank you cards, custom invites and custom stationery for any occasion.

By now you all know that when I find something I love, I can’t wait to write about it and share it with you!  Finding Basic Invite feels like a dream come true for my custom stationery obsession – let me tell you why!

Why I Fell In Love With Basic Invite

Unlimited Color Selection: One thing I love about baby shower invites in particular is that they serve as a keepsake item for years to come.  With almost unlimited colors and tons of other customizable options, Basic Invite allows you to match the stationery to anything you’d like! I personally love the idea of making baby shower invites the same color and theme as the nursery and then following that up with custom thank you cards of the same palette and style.

Custom Samples: I’m someone who loves to buy as much online as possible, but when it comes to paper goods it can be hard to determine stock quality, texture, etc.  Basic Invite can send you custom samples so that you’re sure of your design before placing your final order!

Colored Envelopes: With over 40 different envelope colors to choose from, your card will stand out in the mail and recipients will know something special is inside! The envelopes are also peel and seal, so there’s no licking required!  One thing that often makes me hesitate on colored envelopes is sticking white address labels on them, spoiling the bright color.  That isn’t an issue here as Basic Invite offers a Free Address Collection Service that you can use to request your addresses with just three simple steps: share a link, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing. How perfect is that?!

Baby Shower Thank You Cards

If you’re hosting a shower for someone, one of the nicest things you can do is give them a set of baby shower thank you cards.  Moms-to-be and new moms have so much on their plate that having these cards ready to go can be incredibly helpful!  Also, if your new-mama-friend is anything like me, she’d want to send a lovely custom thank you card (maybe with a photo of baby on it or inside!).
