On October 19th, Canadians will head to the polls for a National Election.
Please don’t get me wrong here – I don’t wish to use Styled to Sparkle to endorse any candidate or party or to influence your stance on any of the many important issues that are a part of this election. We may not agree on policy issues, and that is the wonderful thing about living in a democracy – we’re allowed to disagree!
I do, though, believe it is important for everyone to go out and cast their ballot and have their say. Government policies, both foreign and domestic, influence our every day lives and we all have the right to choose which are best for us. Many people of my age statistically do not get involved in the political process, but our say is important, too. Every vote counts and it’s important to have your voice heard.
Not sure who to vote for? Click HERE! CTV has provided a great resource that outlines the position of each party for most of the key issues. I like that this summarizes it all in one place for voters, helping us to make the decision that best suits us.
Why I Vote: I am fortunate enough to live in a country where I am allowed to vote. I see voting as a privilege because it wasn’t always a right for everyone in Canada, and still isn’t for many around the world. Casting my ballot makes me feel proud.
So please – head to the polls and make your choice! (I just wish in Canada they gave us those fun “I Voted Today” stickers that Americans get because it would make it more fun!).
