Minimal makeup is always best for the beach or a tropical vacation – after all, your natural sun-kissed glow provides so much of what you need naturally!
Here are our favorites for eyes, lips and cheeks while at the beach!
- Bobbi Brown ‘Nude on Nude’ Eyeshadow Palette – Limited Edition! ($50, Nordstrom). I love simple eye shadow for beach trips – you’re already carrying a glow, so no need to add too much else. This nude palette easily goes from day to night and comes with a double ended brush right inside (perfect for travel!).
- Smashbox ‘Always Sharp’ Waterproof Kôhl Liner shown in ‘storm’ ($20, Nordstrom). I wear the non-waterproof version of this every day and it takes a fair bit to smudge it so I know this waterproof liner is solid! It glides on so easily and is always sharp, which I love.
- Benefit Cosmetics ‘They’re Real’ Primer ($24, Benefit Cosmetics). This primer is the perfect day-time mascara alternative. The mink shade is natural on any lash color and gives lift and a ‘wow-factor’ without the thickness and drama of mascara. I think it’s perfect on its own for daytime beach wear!
- Benefit Cosmetics ‘Dew The Hoola’ Liquid Bronzer ($28, Benefit Cosmetics). This matte bronzing liquid is so easy to use and blend (psst! there’s a tutorial on the website). I love the sheer coverage of this one.
- Benefit Cosmetics ‘Hoola’ Matte Bronzer ($29, Benefit Cosmetics). The pure matte (no shimmer, no sparkle) of this bronzer works all year round. it even comes with a tiny brush for application. It also comes in a convenient travel sized version ($15, Benefit Cosmetics) that is perfect to toss into your beach bag!
- Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder ($42, Nordstrom). This is a great every day bronzer (especially because you need very little). I like to apply it with a brush for light coverage just where I need it.
- Bobbi Brown Lip Balm ($22, Nordstrom). I cannot get enough of this balm! It contains avocado and olive oils and makes lips feel so soft and moisturized! The tiny tin fits in any purse or pocket!
- Dior ‘Addict Lip Glow’ shown in ‘Sheer Pink’ ($33, Nordstrom). This one applies like a lipstick, but is adds moisture and feels like a balm. It’s fairly sheer, but it responds to the color chemistry of your lips to create your own unique shade.
- Urban Decay NAKED Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss shown in ‘Walk of Shame’ ($20, Nordstrom). This is one of my favorite lip glosses – it is really nourishing and has just the right amount of shine and sparkle for the beach. It comes in a variety of other neutral tones, too.
